Edward Charles Morris

President & CEO E.C. Morris Corp.

 

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Edward C. Morris and his family reside in Sharon Township, Medina County, Ohio. Married to the former Brenda Lee Patin in 1970, they are the proud parents of two children, Rhonda Tennille and Daniel Edward.

 

Edward is an electrical engineering graduate of Southern University, A&M College (1970). He has also completed the Minority Executive Business Programs at Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Advanced Management Education Program at Kellogg of Northwestern University.

 

Prior to becoming the President of E.C. Morris Corp., Edward served as a plant engineer and a senior sales representative for Exxon Chemical Co. He served in those areas for nine years and then founded E.C. Morris Corp. in 1978. He was also the Chairman of the Yale-Dawson Rubber Co. (a 200+ employee manufacturing co.) in Dawson, Ga.

 

In recognition of his entrepreneurial skills, he has received numerous awards from the State of Ohio, Case-Western Reserve University of Cleveland, and local organizations. He was a finalist in the Inc. magazine, “Entrepreneur of the Year” award. His company has been recognized as one of the fastest growing industrial companies in Northern Ohio and was awarded this honor four years running by the Weatherhead 100 Club. The Governor of Ohio has issued to Edward a proclamation citing both he and his company for their societal contributions.

 

In addition to his administrative duties, Edward was one of the founding members of Emmanuel Christian Academy of Akron, Ohio. He served as Chairman for seven years and today still contributes to this institution, which is dedicated to helping young people develop their academic and spiritual skills. 

 

Edward is currently serving as a Trustee on the Board of Malone College. He has recently completed a two-year assignment with the Malone College School of Businees as the Executive in Residence.

 

 He is also currently serving on the Board of Christian Boaters Association (CBA) as Treasurer. CBA is an international organization that uses maritime vessels in a missionary setting.

 

Edward and his family currently attend Hudson Community Chapel in Hudson, Ohio. They have been members there for the past several years and have been active in its educational department. As a Born-Again believer, Edward takes seriously his commitment to serving and honoring the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal God and Savior.
